About Non-woven Shoe Covers

Not every zone in a food plant is wet, and in dry and mid-care areas a breathable shoe cover is the better choice. Our disposable non-woven shoe covers are made from soft spunbond fabric that lets air through, so feet stay cooler and drier over a full shift than they would under a plastic overshoe. They are designed for dry food processing, packaging and high-care zones where the job is to control what is tracked across the floor, not to repel liquid.

The hypoallergenic fabric is comfortable enough for staff and visitors who wear them for extended periods. Because they are single-use, they eliminate the cross-contamination risk that comes with reused footwear — each person puts on a clean cover on entry and discards it on the way out, supporting food processing hygiene in any HACCP-controlled environment with no laundering step to manage.

As a manufacturer and exporter, Disponord supplies non-woven shoe covers in bulk to food processing plants, meat, poultry and dairy facilities, packaging operations and cleanrooms that need consistent quality on every reorder, with dependable resupply across Europe and the Gulf. For wet processing zones — washdown areas, seafood and meat lines — our waterproof PE shoe covers are the right counterpart.

Frequently asked questions

What are non-woven shoe covers used for?

Non-woven shoe covers slip over footwear to reduce dirt and contamination carried between areas of a facility. They are used at entry points to production and clean zones and are favoured in dry areas where breathability and comfort matter more than liquid resistance.

What is the difference between non-woven and PE shoe covers?

Non-woven shoe covers are made from breathable fabric, which is more comfortable for longer wear but is not waterproof — best for dry areas. PE (polyethylene) shoe covers are made from waterproof film, better suited to wet processing zones. Many plants stock both and choose by zone.

What GSM are your non-woven shoe covers?

Our non-woven shoe covers are around 20 GSM, in blue or white, roughly 40–41 cm. The weight balances durability with comfort and breathability, and the elastic opening holds the cover securely around the shoe during movement.

How are non-woven shoe covers packed?

They are packed 100 pieces per pack, grouped into larger bags and then sacks for high-volume lines. This format suits facilities that use shoe covers in large quantities at entry points and need reliable bulk resupply.

Are non-woven shoe covers suitable for HACCP-controlled environments?

Yes. Non-woven shoe covers are suitable for use in HACCP-controlled food processing environments, particularly in dry zones. HACCP is a facility-level food-safety system rather than a product certification, so the covers support a plant's footwear hygiene controls rather than replacing them.
