About PE Sleeve Covers
The forearm is the gap most PPE leaves open. Between the top of a glove and the edge of a rolled sleeve, bare skin and clothing are exposed to splash, juice and contamination — and in wet food handling that gap gets soaked fast. PE sleeve covers close it. Made from waterproof polyethylene with elastic cuffs at both ends, they seal over the glove and up the arm, keeping operators dry and stopping contamination from wicking into sleeves during meat, seafood and dairy handling.
The elastic cuffs are what make them work in practice: a snug seal at the wrist and upper arm holds the cover in place through repeated movement and stops liquid from running back down the arm. Sometimes called arm cuffs or sleeve protectors, they are a fast, cheap barrier changed as often as gloves — which is exactly why consistent bulk supply matters more than any single feature.
Disponord supplies PE sleeve covers in bulk to food processing and packaging operations across Europe and the Gulf. As a manufacturer and exporter we focus on dependable resupply and consistent specification. For dry handling and packaging lines, our breathable non-woven sleeve covers are the more comfortable option.
Frequently asked questions
What are PE sleeve covers used for?
PE (polyethylene) sleeve covers protect the forearm from moisture and contamination, worn from wrist to above the elbow. In food processing they are common in wet tasks — handling raw meat, fish or liquids — because the polyethylene material is liquid-resistant and keeps sleeves and skin clean.
What is the difference between PE and non-woven sleeve covers?
PE sleeve covers are made from waterproof polyethylene film, best for wet tasks where liquids are present. Non-woven sleeve covers are made from breathable fabric, more comfortable for dry handling but not liquid-resistant. The choice depends on whether the task is wet or dry.
How do PE sleeve covers stay in place?
PE sleeve covers use elastic at both the wrist and the upper arm to hold them securely and stop liquids running in. This double-elastic design keeps the cover in position during repetitive line work without constant readjustment.
Are PE sleeve covers suitable for wet food processing?
Yes — their liquid resistance is exactly why they suit wet zones in meat, poultry, dairy and seafood plants. Worn with a PE apron they extend liquid protection up the arm for tasks involving heavy moisture.
Are PE sleeve covers suitable for HACCP-controlled environments?
Yes. PE sleeve covers are suitable for use in HACCP-controlled food processing environments. HACCP is a facility-level food-safety system rather than a product certification, so the covers form part of a plant's hygiene controls rather than being certified in themselves.
